I never did get around to posting yesterday. I cooked instead. LOL Our fridge is now full of precooked food, so I have time today to play some more. I will just share a few more pictures of my babies, then move on. They all enjoyed dying the eggs. 
Once again, Izzie was too young to participate, but she enjoyed looking at her daddy's iPhone.

I believe that is all I have to share about our Easter get together. I want to show you some goodies I got in the mail this morning. I ordered these from Create For Less last Saturday and got them today. I think that is pretty good service. 
The little blue boxes are Thread Heaven. I love this stuff. I run my quilting thread through it before I put it in the needle. This is a thread conditioner and it makes the thread stronger and tangle less. I use it on all of my handwork, even embroidery and for binding. The needles are Clover golden eye size 10. They work great. The ruler is an add a quarter. It has a little 1/4inch lip along one side. It can be used with templates or for paper piecing. That is actually what I bought it for. I really hated the first paper piecing that I did, but I paper pieced the border on the beagle quilt and it wasn't so bad. So I decided to try some more. After all, I love the paper pieced stars I see. See how the lip works? I hooked it over one of my quilting templates so you could see better. I think this will make things much easier. 
Also I bought a raised lip or deep recessed, however you look at it LOL, thimble. I have wanted one of these for a while now, but couldn't find any locally. Here is a closeup of it. I hope I like it. 
I happened to think about these books the other day. Carolyn gave them to me many years ago, but I was just never interested in paper piecing. I guess now I am going to give it a try. There are some awesome quilts pictured in these books, especially the '40 Bright and Bold Paper-Pieced Blocks' by Carol Doak. She does incredible work. 
So it looks like I will be learning a new form of quilting. I seem to constantly be learning new things in quilting. Since I plan to start doing some paper piecing, I would need to have many copies made of the blocks I want to do. I was going to take my book to Office Depot and have them make copies for me, but Kevin said we should just buy a scanner/printer/copier so that I would have it here to use. I haven't figured it all out yet, but Kevin printed me off some blocks to play around with. I was just waiting for my ruler to get here. This is Carolyn after the little wrestling match. She is a good aunt!
Here is one of Carolyn's 'babies'. Her name is Emma and she is an English Mastiff. She can just walk up and lay her head on the table. Big dog! They also have another Mastiff named Brody, but he doesn't care for noise, so stays in the bedroom when we all visit. LOL Oh, I mustn't forget Mayleen. She is a very plump Pug who is about 10 years old yet is the boss of the place. LOL I didn't get any pictures of Brody or any good ones of Mayleen, but here is Emma. You can kind of see Mayleen in the background.

Carolyn loves crocheting like I love quilting. She is a prolific crocheter. She even crocheted most of the curtains in her home, but I forgot to get pictures of them. Here is a picture of their guest room. She made the spread, dolls, and the pillow cover. She does a beautiful job!

I really debated with myself on how to quilt it. I almost machine quilted it with a crosshatch using my walking foot. Then I decided I'd better stick with hand quilting. I am not really good with machine quilting and don't even enjoy it much. I do enjoy hand quilting. (grin) So I quilted in the ditch around the center pictures and each log. Then I quilted around each main character/thing in each block. Here is a picture of the back, although you can't see much because I used such a busy backing.

I finished the blanket stitches around the running beagles last night while watching Biggest Loser. I love that show, but didn't care much for last night's episode. I guess I really don't care for the game play. I also don't care for Ron. I just think he is too bossy. Oh well, it is a game, after all. I am surprised that they all weren't sick after all of the junk that they ate during that temptation. Anyway, I will share a couple of pictures of the running dogs.

As soon as Kevin left for work, I got it out and decided to get it sandwiched. Since this will be a wall quilt and not receive a lot of wear/washing, I decided to use leftover pieces of batting in it. I used my walking foot and a wide zigzag stitch to sew the pieces together. I just butted them up end to end and sewed. It should work ok for this project and I used up some of my batting pieces. (grin)
I now have it all sandwiched and pin basted. As soon as I get off here, I plan to get started quilting it. I marked the quilting lines last night, but they don't show up in the picture. It should quilt up quickly.

It is my yellow onion sets and Yukon Gold and Pontiac potatoes. We decided to order these from Jung's this year. We usually purchase these around here, but haven't had good luck the past few years, so decided to give Jung's a chance. Of course, it will be a while before we can get them planted. I am sure it will be at least another week if not longer before we can get in the garden. Especially since they are calling for more rain in the next week. Spring will get here some day. LOL 
I was straightening up the pile of projects that stay beside my rocker last night. I found this table runner. It only needed a little bit of primitive embroidery around some cherries to be ready to quilt, so I finished that up. 
Please excuse the messiness on my cutting table. I just can't work on things without leaving a mess. LOL Normally, tomorrow I would be taking Kevin's check to the bank and probably getting a few groceries, but since I have to go to mom's, I guess that will be put off till Saturday. It's just as well. Kevin's new glasses finally came in. We both ordered them the same day, but he has to have safety approved glasses where he works. So it took about 10 days longer for him to get his. We will pick them up Saturday. I know it is grocery shopping time since the fridge is getting bare. (grin) I will work on a list in a bit. Now, I guess I had better get back to the beagle quilt. I think I will sandwich this little runner and put it away for a while, or I won't get done what I need to get done. LOL Anyone else have that problem? Doesn't is look like it will be fun to quilt? This just may make me work harder on the projects I need done before May. 
Well, on to important stuff. (grin) I finished the borders on the disappearing nine patch for Amy. I know you are dying to know which fabric I picked. 
I took some leftover pink fabric and made little 4-patches for the corners. I hope I have enough of the green for the binding. It turned out 57 inches by 67 inches. That should be big enough for Amy to curl up under. Here is a closeup of one of the corners. 
This is all of the pink and pink paisley fabric that I have left. Is this cutting it close or what? LOL
Well, I think I will get back to work on the beagle quilt. I can only work on it while Kevin is at work. I also know myself well enough that I need to get it done while I am in the mood. If another project pops into my head, I will be off and running with it. LOL That is why I have so many projects going at once. If I decided Ihad to finish everything I had started before I could start another project, I wouldn't be able to work on anything new for a couple of years. LOL Everyone have a great day.
